Visit Northumberland is the official VisitEngland accredited Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) for the county of Northumberland. As your tourism body we:

• lead the coordination and management of the Northumberland visitor economy
• encourage sustainable tourism growth
• deliver inspirational marketing and communications
• provide support for business to grow and develop new products

Visit Northumberland provides the leadership, influence and strategic drive to be recognised voice of the Northumberland visitor economy. We:

• oversee the delivery of the Northumberland Destination Management Plan
• seek to strengthen the quality of the visitor experience and improve business performance
• coordinate and curate partner outputs linked to actions required for the delivery of the Destination Management Plan
• are a founding partner of the Destination North East Destination Development Partnership alongside NewcastleGateshead Initiative and Visit County Durham

Northumberland businesses are benefiting through the Destination North East destination development partnership. Visit Northumberland’s influence ensures:

• collaboration in projects on a size and scale to bring wider regional benefit
• increased awareness about the importance of the visitor economy
• DDP strategic priorities are influenced by the Northumberland Destination Management Plan
• DDP activities support the delivery of the Northumberland Destination Management Plan

The executive team are supported by the Northumberland Visitor Economy Board and its members play a convening role and provide strategic oversight and direction for Northumberland’s visitor economy.

The sector is further supported by a small, select group of active representatives of the Northumberland visitor economy that oversee the delivery of activity benefits all Visit Northumberland partners. The Visit Northumberland Ltd Board provides all oversight required as a company Limited by Guarantee registered with Companies House, and is responsible for Visit Northumberland’s operational and partnership activities.
